A sports and remedial massage is ideal to treat injuries and as well as a preventative treatment dealing with the health of muscle and connective tissue,  range of movement, tone,  symmetry, balance of  muscle and quality of posture. A sports and remedial massage is designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue that are caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. The application of this massage, prior to and after exercise, may enhance performance, aid recovery and prevent injury.

What do I wear?


Depending on what area I will be working on will determine what you will need to wear.  Generally speaking, you will down to your underwear so I can access different muscle groups and joints but shorts can be worn if work is being performed around legs and lower back.

How many treatments do I need?


This will come down to the individual as everybody will have different requirements and conditions.  During the consultation and assessment we can discuss this into more detail.


What is the difference between a
sports massage and a swedish massage?


More pressure will be applied  as different advanced technquies will be used during a sports and remedial massage to the soft tissue to encourage circulation and promote recovery.  The techniques used during this massage will can be to treat injuries and will require the client to be in different positions on the couch.
