Whats is sports taping?

Sports taping or kinesiology taping is the process of applying tape directly to the skin in order to maintain a stable position of bones and muscles during athletic activity. It is a procedure that uses tape, attached to the skin, to physically keep in place muscles or bones at a certain position. This reduces pain and aids recovery. Taping is usually used to help recover from overuse and other injuries.

- Compress soft tissues to reduce swelling

Do I remove the tape before showering?


No, the tape if waterproof and can be left on.  Try avoid washing directly on the tape as this will remove  the adhesive that binds the tape to the skin.  Once you have finished showering, try hairdryering over the tape to active the adhesive glue of the tape.

At what point in the treatment
do apply the sports tape?

The sports tape will be applied at the end of the treatment as it will difficult to massage over it and the wax used will remove the adhesiveness of the tape.
